Rose McGowan

 

Rosa Arianna "Rose") McGowan was born on the 5th of September 7th, 1973. She is an American actress. After making her film debut with her brief appearance in the comedy Encino Man (1992), McGowan gained more recognition for her role in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995) and received an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Debut Performance. Her breakthrough came in the film horror Scream (1996) which later was the lead in the films Going All the Way (1997) Devil in the Flesh (1998) and Jawbreaker (1999). In the decade 2000, McGowan became known to viewers on television for her performance as Paige Matthews in The WB supernatural drama series Charmed (2001-2006). She went on to star in Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's double-feature film Grindhouse (2007) for which she was nominated to win the Saturn Award for Best Actress and the Scream Award for Best Scream Queen. She appeared in the action-thriller series Chosen (2014) as well as released her debut album, Planet 9, in 2018. The album was followed by a revamp in 2020. McGowan was recognized by Time as one of the Silence Breakers, the magazine’s Person of the Year in the year 2017. She made a statement against sexual harassment and assault and , in particular, the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases. Brave is her memoir. Citizen Rose was her documentary series. Both were released in 2018.
