Tina Louise Biography
Tina Louise, born Tatiana Josivovna Blacker on the 11th
of February 1934 was an American writer and performer. Her most famous work is
for her character on Ginger Grant, a CBS show that ran from 1964 until 1967. Her stage career started
in the mid-50s. The actress was later chosen to play the role of God's Little
Acre, a 1957 drama film. In this role she was awarded the Golden Globe Award
for New Star of the Year. Louise also played in a number of Hollywood films,
like The Trap and Day of the Outlaw. Louise
was back in film in the years following and was in The Wrecking Crew and The
Happy Ending. Tina Blacker was born in New York, to Jewish parents. According to one source, her birth name was Tatiana
Josivovna Chernova Blacker. Her parents
split at the age of four years older. Tina
was the sole child, and was taken care of by Sylvia Horn (nee Myers) her mother
(1916-2011), who was a fashion model. Tina's
father Joseph Blacker was a Brooklyn candy shop owner, and later, he became an accountant. According to some reports, Louise was given the name because
she informed her drama teacher that she was only one of her classmates that did
not have a middle name. The teacher chose
Louise as her name. Louise and it stayed. She
attended Miami University in Ohio.
